Bounce Energy was founded in 2008 in Houston, Texas and has since become one of the fastest growing retail electricity providers in the state. Bounce has been innovative with the technology options in their customer account management software and have a variety of different rewards programs from which a customer can select. They're extremely active with their customers on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media outlets and their customers also can take advantage of one of the most robust refer-a-friend programs available. In 2012 they received the highest level of excellence from JD Power & Associates customer surveys, and they've consistently been ranked as one of the Top 2 of my Texas Electricity Ratings since 2011. I'd say they've come a long way since opening their doors in 2008. Bounce Energy has recently expanded their service into New York and Pennsylvania.

I switched to Bounce Energy when I moved because they didn't require a deposit on my plan. The person who took my order was very nice. Their price was a little higher than some plans from other companys but I guess it's because I don't have to pay a deposit. They are also suppose to lower my price once I pay 3 bills on time. We will see, i guess. I was a little confused when i first tried to pay my bill online but i figured it out. The 2nd time I logged in to pay they had already made it easier.

Ordered Bounce back in February. They have reasonable prices and I liked this friends fly free thing. To be honest, I thought it was a to good to be true and I would have to jump through 5000 hoops to get it. About 2 months after I ordered, I called them and after waiting on hold a while, I spoke a very nice lady who said I had to be a customer for 3 months before I got it. They could have told me that when i ordered, but oh well. I wanted to use it for my wife when we go down to Disney World. Sure enough, I finally got it and now my wife, kids and I are headed to Florida next month. Saved me about $500.

I did quite a bit of shopping around before I switched to Bounce Energy. First off, this site is by far the best one to help you make an informed decision on electric companies. Thanks. Second, I decided on Bounce Energy due to the information you provided, namely low rates, bill credits and the free friends airfare thing. When I called to order, the rep was extremely helpful and nice and she walked me through ordering a fixed rate plan at a lower price than the other plan I originally wanted. I primarily felt compelled to promote them when I got my first bill and it was half of what my previous bills had been from Reliant. Hope it stays that way.

I appreciate a company who thinks outside the box. I was moving and a ton of things to do including ordering my electric service. Didn't know who I was going to choose, but I knew that I was switching from Reliant. I did some comparing and in about 5 minutes found this Express Moving plan from Bounce Energy. Hooked up my electric service, changed my address and added me to the don't call and don't mail list (which i hadn't even thought of). But on top of all of that, got my first bill at my new place it was less than what my last bill was with Reliant with only 14 days of service on my last bill. It certainly pays to shop around.

Love This Electric Company
So, i can't tell you how many issues I have had with electric companies in the Houston area. My overarching view was they were all terrible. After I got fed up with Stream's shady practices of increasing your rates without telling you, i switched to Bounce Energy. Not only did my bill cut in half, but I don't have to deal with the grief that comes with every other company's customer services problems. Love it.

Bounce Energy delivered everything I was promised.
I became one of Bounce Energy's first customers when they opened their doors and asked me to switch to their service. Since deregulation, I had never once looked into doing this, so I thought it might be a move I would come to regret. They offered a lot of incentives like rebates and rewards that got my attention. I'm happy to say that not only did the transition go smoothly, but they have kept their promises and have not had to be reminded to deliver what they promised to me. The rebates appear automatically on my statements and rewards show up in the mail. When my bills are paid automatically with a credit card charge I am notified with an email every time. Because they communicate so effectively through the web and email, I never have to use the phone. I highly recommend this company.

Love 'Em - WOW'd me - I'm Telling Everyone
I am not usually a fan of big utility companies, been burned by them in the
past. I was pleasantly surprised at how helpful Bounce Energy was when I
signed up. I was moving into my first apartment since moving to Houston from
Seattle - so I really had no idea what I should do considering that I had never
had a choice when picking my electric company.
They walked me through all the plans and I decided to sign up with them since
the rates were as good OR LOWER and they were the most helpful of the 5
companies I spoke to.
Got my first bill yesterday and it was nothing like I that i thought it would. I kept
hearing horror stories from my friends about their bills during the summer - I
was pleased with mine.
So, thanks Bounce Energy friends. You made this a lot easier than I thought it
would be. Now, just keep it up.

Really great company
I had been a long time customer with TXU, and I didnt even realize what a high rate I had with them. After shopping around, I chose bounce and have been very satisfied with my bills. I got a great fixed rate and did the math and turns out I would be saving over $600 a year! It was easy to switch. I just called their customer service line on a tuesday and by friday I was already a Bounce customer. I love their website and my online account is easy to use and has lots of information. I will be recommending Bounce to anyone shopping for electricity.

Switched from Reliant three months ago, best thing I have done to save money in a while. Customer service was OUTSTANDING. The web platform is the best I have seen in the industry.. Bounce Energy is much better than TXU.
6 Months ago I switched to Bounce Energy from TXU and there is a world of difference.
1. Bounce Energy has lower prices than TXU.
2. The ELS level is 1500 on a Bounce energy plan while TXU was 2000, I have not had to pay any fees for not using enough electricity. TXU always hit me for this fee.
3. The $60 discount code when signing up took three bills to show but was nice when it did.
4. I value paying my bills on time and Bounce Energy rewards me for my good behavior, something TXU always managed to screw up. My AMC movie tickets are on the way, I love it.
5. The customer service has been great I haven't had to have any contact with Bounce Energy since I signed up. When I was with TXU I had to talk to a person I could not understand that I could tell was in INDIA every other bill because they would over charge me constantly.
I recommend that everybody check out Bounce energy's web site and check out what their plan for your area and the cost per kw.

Bounce energy is a good one
We signed up a year ago with bounce energy (we were with TXU). Signed up to recieve a companion airfare ticket and a kwh rate of $.098 (at the time it was the lowest fixed rate, 12 months). Enrolled in auto pay. Everything was delivered as promised. We referred a friend in the 3rd month, so we recieved a $50 bill credit, a $25 bill credit for paying the first 3 months on time, and our electric bill for the month of october was $7.56! However, now the $.092 renew rate is a little high compared to others, so we are shopping around again. Airfare ticket promotion has no blackouts - only restriction is US travel in lower 48 and 1 year from issuance date. Fee of the airfare ticket is broken out by zones, rates start at $230 and go to $630 average about $500. Price for 2 people still beats expedia by at least $100 or so.

Set-up everythig online without issues
I figured to write the review for this company since I've been with them for almost six months. I arranged everything online, no issues, no problems, just had to fax over some docs that they needed. Good cust service when i called to ask why they need my driver's license. i'd really reccomend this company. You get your bill to your email and everything is really smooth. We switched from TXU to Bounce Energy a year ago. It was the best decision we've ever made! I did a lot of research before choosing Bounce and they were the best company in terms of rates, payment options, and plans. Customer service is prompt, friendly and all speak English. Their website is easy to navigate and simple to use to make payments online. They even have a phone app that allows you to check your account and pay your bill! We have saved so much money since switching from TXU, we wished we had changed companies sooner.
Sidenote - I suspect people that are leaving negative comments about Bounce are people that probably don't pay their bills on time and/or have poor payment histories with other electric companies.

Love bounce energy. I switched from TXU to bounce in Spring of 2011, went from 10.5 to 8.8 cents/kilowatt. I went from a July bill of 210 (the summer of the hottest summer ever) to 160 in August. All in a 1311 sq foot house at 100 + weather for days on end. I was impressed.
Billing - if I had to say anything, it would be their automatic payment system. It's not a set day or even in a range of a day or two, it can be anywhere from 7 days prior to the due date to 7 days after. So, with that, I paid twice in one month (once for the previous month and once for the current). For someone on a budget, it can be difficult. But, I went to paying online manually and it's been much more easier to plan, I pay it myself, online, in 1 minute -done.
Customer Service - is great. I dont sit through hit 1 5 or 7 for this that or the other. Its a few minutes of waiting (5 minutes or less) and I get a REAL person to talk to. They have always been friendly and very helpful.
We moved homes and took them with us to our new house, easy move, and they lowered are rate to 5.5 cents/killowatt.
It's been great.
I recommend them to everyone.

3 Things I Dig About Bounce
I was with Champion Energy for a while. Honestly, I didn't have any issues with them but my brother and several friends told me I should look into Bounce. I didn't really care at first, but I finally did and I am glad I did. Here's why I like Bounce:
1) My rate is about the same as it was before, but now I get cash back when i pay my bill because they offer rewards like that.
2) My brother gave me his code so I could get a bill credit when I switched. That was cool. Nice refer a friend program.
3) They an iphone app so I can pay my bill from my phone (i can't access internet from work).

I'm SO glad that I switched to Bounce
Having been a TXU customer for 15+ years I was very hesitant to change providers. When my 2 year contact was up I received a letter from TXU stating that my contract was expiring. My new rate was ridiculously high (they did say to call or log on for offers, but, why not just offer a competitive plan to me in the letter?). So, I checked this website and could not believe Bounce's rates (and no monthly fee with a certain amount of usage). Then I saw that I could even get American Airlines miles - that sweetened the deal. When I compared bounce's rates to TXU there was no comparison - Bounce beat TXU on every level. During the past 2 months I have saved over $150+ vs. what I would have paid with TXU. I wish I had changed earlier as it's the same electricity coming into my home. Do the research and save big money.

Just got my first bill and was surprised that it was so low. Super easy to sign up online and love the auto pay and easy online billing system. LOVE the rewards program and the fact that I got $75 off for using a refer a friend promo code I found online. I just talked to customer service to see why the credit wasn't on there yet and they explained that it wont be credited until you pay 3 months of your bills on time. Firstly, nobody gets excited about electricity. It's a commodity, one guy's is functionally the same as another. The difference then is how the OTHER stuff works. Is it easy to pay my bill, easy to order, are they NICE?
Well, dealing with Bounce Energy all that is YES. They have an app for my Android phone, they respond on Facebook like they're actual people, not marketing robots. Plus they make an effort to educate about your usage every way possible. I get emails charting my use and how it compares to historical use.
Add to that rewards (I've been with them for over 4 years so I've achieved VIP status gaining me permanent 3% off) and your actual cost is going to be lower than your rate.
Sure, electricity isn't "sexy" but Bounce Energy makes it easy.

I love the fact you can choose you own plan for Bounce.
Customer service is prompt to reply. You receive a variety of incentives for being a bounce customer. American Airline miles, cash credit, movie tickets, etc. I don't feel like they upcharge their service for these, but others may not feel the same. I have a non-sense bill and don't see any hidden charges in it. Some other companies I used in the past took advantage of this, but I don't see it from Bounce. The great thing is you can do a short term contract with bounce on your own terms, and then lock in longer if you like or find another choice.

I was really happy with my 12 month fixed rate when I signed up. I found their balanced billing right on, easy payment through website and customer service exceptional. Now it is time for me to renew, expires 12/9/13 and I cannot find a plan on their website that compares to what I currently have. The only thing close would be the 8 month, but it is still higher and it will expire in the midst of the summer heat in TX. Not going to take those chances, so I will be looking to switch to another company. Up until now, I have recommended them to all of my friends, but not so sure, since the renewal prices are so much higher than a year ago.

I've had the best service from Bounce compared to all other providers. I love they fact they send a weekly usage report to let me know if the amount of energy being used in my house is going up, down, or staying the same. That helps me prepare for the budget and monthly bill. I also love the fact I can earn American Airlines rewards when paying my bill and had other cool promotions to choose.

I've never had any issues with Bounce. I have no company loyalty, and simply chose them because it was the lowest price when I was moving into my apartment back in February 2013. I got a 12 month 5.4c KwH plan at the time (Which is pretty decent from what I've seen). I never had any late payments, and the reward system for this is okay... but to be honest, you don't really notice it as much of a benefit or perk because they're pretty insignificant and the price to have electricity in the first place overshadows them. And as for the other promotions they throw at you throughout the year, I didn't see any of the cost savings reflected in my bills, so there's no way to know if it even had any effect.You get a monthly usage report with estimated cost of service, and some newsletters on what you can do to save electricity which is convenient I suppose. I've never had to deal with customer service, so I can comment on whether or not it's any good.
I decided to go ahead and leave this review, because it's now time for renewal, and the KwH rate is double what I signed up for in the beginning. So it's time to go Electric company shopping again to see if I can get a better deal somewhere else, and another lucky hand of not having any billing issues...
If you're looking for an electric company, and you're reading this... it just seems to be the luck of the draw and getting the service at the right time of the year when the rates are lowest. In the end, they're all just big corporations with shareholders who want more money so they can buy another beach house they'll never visit. Just shop until you find a low rate, without a bunch of gargantuan hidden fees and taxes.

I locked in a 15 month rate that was 20% cheaper than Reliant's best un-published plan. I picked e-billing option, auto pay, no thanks on Green and a 15 month fixed rate was the winning combo for me. Plus I got a $25 visa gift card at sign-up, quarterly rewards and a $50 credit after my first three months. Thanks to the rewards program and cheaper rates I'm saving about $250/year over Reliant Energy. The only downside is I usually have to wait a few minutes before I can talk to someone. They should improve that a bit.

I'm not sure what everyone else is talking about because I've been with Bounce since December and I've already earned enough bill credits to not pay my bill for the next two months. Yea they started charging encor fees directly to the consumer i.e. higher bills but they really give you every opportunity to "earn" your electricity. I'm in college and I'm completely happy with not having to pay my bill, I cannot express how much this is not a joke. Sounds to good to be true? Your wrong. Oh and I get free movie tickets and a gift card if I pay my next few payments, which as I explained before, are being taken care of by the giant bill credit I earned. Hello Sir/Ma'am, I would recommend this company. Some tips that I hope helps you out for those in the Military as I am or if youre not I think youll still find it helpful. If you have movers scheduled I'd recommend having the electricity turned on one day in advance. I scheduled my electricity to be turned on the same day the movers were showing up and the electricity was delayed by an hour from when it was supposed to be turned on. The scheduled turn on is completely automated so calling the company wont do much good the day the service is supposed to start. Save yourself the stress and have it turned on early. Also the autopay is a pretty good system which saves you from the hassle. Overall Im happy with the service and dont have any major complaints. Best out of Bounce, Reliant, and Direct Energy
I have had Reliant, Direct Energy, and currently am with Bounce Energy. Reliant was the worst. Direct is pretty good. When I had them, they participated in Light up Texas which helps struggling families get their bill paid. BUT when I moved to a new town, I researched for the best price and found Bounce. It really sounded to good to be true, but they are absolutely AMAZING. First off when I Googled reviews, I found several people posted their "Refer A Friend Code" in their references because when someone starts service and uses the code, that person AND the person starting service gets a $50 bill credit. Which is Legit. Bounce Energy also sends you movie theater and restaurant gift cards, and periodically $50 bill credits when you pay your bill on time for consecutive months at a time (starting at 4 months.) I live in an upstairs, high vaulted ceiling apartment (1 br) and my bill is always around $85-$90 even when it's hot outside. They will send you a weekly usage summary so that you can see how much you're using each week (which helps me be cautious of when I need to quit leaving lights on in rooms that I'm not in.) All in all the best thing is that the bill is so low and then the side perks are just great. It's the little things :)

Looking forward to earning rewards. I I switched to Bounce Energy after Reliant customer service representative blatantly lied to me about the rates, service, and terms. I received a bill for $163 for 22 days. I just moved into the apartment and work in events so I am never home. The rate was very high. I am from another state and not accustom to deregulation etc. I asked the rep to thoroughly explain and she did not. Therefore I am here. I will be back to write another review in a few months. We have had service with Startex, Champion and Frontier and didn't have any problems with any of them. We shop around when the contract is up to get better rates with different companies. If any of the three companies had offered us the lower rate, we would have stayed with them. We just switched to Bounce and so far the experience has been great. We love the reward program idea... which we didn't have with the other companies. The prices were competitive for companies with positive reviews. I ignore the lower priced companies if their reviews are poor. Customer service on the phone was quick and the representatives were very helpful. So obviously you should compare the EFT label for all companies and compare prices in the range of how much u use regularly but if bounce is close to another company in price I would definitely recommend it based on a few reasons.

We love Bounce, have been Bounce customers for over 4 yrs now & have found Bounce to offer not only good customer service but also are very competitive on their rates. there was one time I failed to choose a plan when ours ran out making out rate plan month to month at over 12 cents per kw instead of 8 cents kw, I called bounce explained what happened and without any problems they helped us lock into a plan and adjusted our bill instantly. Not only are they a little lower per kw but they give you a welcome bonus for paying on time.. you choose from 3 rewards options. the option we choose toped out at 36 mo on bonus rewards but still earn a 3% discount on your monthly bill when you pay on time. I would like to see the airline rewards plan change to be points accrued under any form of payment instead of being an option only if you are paying with 1 certain credit card that will work to earn flight mileage. otherwise I would have switched to airline rewards after toping out on our rewards plan.

We decided to switch to Bounce Energy when we moved into a new home in July of 2015. So far, we are extremely pleased. Their communication (electronic) is excellent. They send savings opportunities via email as well as your weekly electricity usage, so you know what to expect on your monthly bill. On that note, their rates are awesome compared to our previous supplier, First Choice Power. Our bill is now $125 (in the Texas summer months) or so per month as opposed to close to $300!! Customer service has been easy to work with as well. They also have rewards programs - which is a plus on top of what we are already saving! We have called 2 or 3 times to set up the account, add a location and for a quick billing question, and they answer quickly and are polite. Just joined Bounce energy and could not be happier. A friend in Dallas told me about them but I was skeptical at first until my first bill came in the mail. It was over $60 dollars less than what I was charged by TXU and that was before the rebate. The plans were easy to understand and pick and the ordering and switch from TXU was easy and straight forward. Definitely recommending to my family and friends.

Renewing with the same energy provider for the first time since moving to Texas over four years ago. I just can't leave Bounce! Their rewards program is awesome, their customer service is awesome and I have absolutely nothing to complain about. Their rates were not as low as some of the other companies - but after a few phone calls I spoke to an agent who gave me a monthly retention discount in addition to lowering their posted rate. We chose the Express Move 24 plus plan which includes a Nest Learning Thermostat and we couldn't have chosen a better option! We received great discounts, coupons, and moving quotes. Our energy bills are very low since the Nest Thermostat was installed! The reward programs are extremely fun! I have no complaints with Bounce Energy. I have a great experience with them and even renewed after my year was up. My bill changes , depending on the season, however, I have never rec'd an outrageous bill. The most my light bill has been is $150 range. I've had Bounce Energy for a couple of years now in Alvin, TX. I've had absolutely no issues with them. I've even transferred services recently and was able to switch to a cheaper plan. I've read some of the negative reviews here and a few people mentioned that their kwh has doubled after switching plans - personally (in my opinion), I think their usage just went up so because of that, the "average kwh" that they are seeing on their bill is higher, which leads them to think that it is higher in general. That's not the case at all. It just shows the average kwh of what you're paying, which is in relation to, well, how much electricity you use.

Bounce has been great so far!! It was pretty easy to set up a new account (just call and the customer service rep will do everything for you), but what I really like about them are the promotions! They have a ton! My last electric company (BTX utilities) didn't do stuff like that, at least to my knowledge. I haven't had to pay yet, and I've been a customer for two months. That says a lot to me. I also was able to get a fully green plan, which was important to me. You can get $50 if you use a promotion code (that's what I did).

I've been a customer of Bounce for almost 5 years, through 4 moves. Their customer service is excellent. I've never had a billing issue or discrepancy. I've had a few questions that were answered promptly after contacting them.
I've never had a connection or disconnection issue.
I'm glad they're promoting more green energy in recent years.
I wish they would revamp their website. It could use some updates and streamlining as far as user experience/interface. However, they've done a good job of making themselves accessible electronically and I appreciate that.
They also have a pretty decent rewards systems - I'm receiving a $15 Starbucks gift card for paying on time 6 months in a row, which I would already do regardless.

I moved to Texas 5 years ago and switched electric companies every 6 - 12 months (from Startex to Frontier to Champion) until I switched to Bounce in January 2015. I expected to change again in January 2016 but I have been so happy with their service and with my bills... that I think I am going to stick with them for a while. Their rewards program is awesome! Even if you find a rate that is a little lower, Bounce's rewards will surely make up the difference if you pay on time. Customer service was great for the very few times I've had to call.

I've been with them for over 3 years, and don't plan on switching companies any time soon. I personally can't stand the heat and at my house the AC is on 24 hours a day, but my bill would never go higher than about $60 for my 2 bedroom apartment. I've been with them for over 3 years, and i've never had any issues or complaints. As far as for the rewards, I've ALWAYS received my reward (my favorite being my chickfila gift card).
